Career Exploration
THIS ONE-SEMESTER CLASS IS OFFERED FALL SEMESTER ONLY.
Figuring out what you want to do in life is something that can either take years to figure out after you graduate high school (or college) OR you can be intentional and figure it out before you graduate high school. By figuring it out now you can start now to learn the needed skills and choose the best high school, PSEO and college classes before you waste time with classes that don’t prepare you for that career. But FIRST you need to figure out exactly WHAT it is that God has uniquely prepared you to do.
In this course we will put together your interests, your personality, and the skills you have already learned to help you determine what might be a good career for you. You’ll get the opportunity to meet leaders in fields that match your interests and skills and build an education plan to help you prepare for that career.
When you are done you will have the option to have a private consult (for a small additional fee) to help you create a course plan for the rest of your high school course work and also start to look at potential education beyond high school (college, trade school, other education opportunities, and potential internships).
Prerequisites
- Tech Readiness (Prior or Concurrent)
- Basic Computer Skills Workshop OR Tech Readiness (Prior or Concurrent)
Equipment Required
- A Current laptop - (recommended) A current laptop (within the last 4 years) with Windows, Mac or Linux is required during class.
Homework
Students should expect to spend 1-2 hours per week on homework.
